About me
Suray Robinson Mahmutovic. Dob. 7-30- 1998. Named after Sugar Ray Robinson, the greatest Boxer ever. Starting Boxing Training at 2 years old. First official Boxing Match age 10 in 2008. Won his First National Championship in Kansas City 2010. In 2011 at age 12 in Las Vegas, only his 6th fight fought vs a 3-time National Champion who had 66 fights. Kid name Derrell Gibbs, 14 years old from Ohio. Other fighters at this tournament pulled out instead of fighting this Gibbs kid. Gibbs won a decision vs Suray but this was when the world knew that he is a special kid. He did not back down from Gibbs despite the experience and age factor. Had to settle for Silver that year.
In 2012, he won the National Jr Golden Gloves for 2nd National Championships Finals vs Clarence Green Jr. Another 3-time National Champion, but he was same age as Suray. Suray won decisively and Became #1 ranked fighter in USA. 2013 Big year Silver Gloves, USA and Jr Golden Gloves Championships and Won Most Outstanding Boxer award at the USA National Championships over Famous Boxers like Shakur Stevenson, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney who became Olympians and World Champs in Boxing now in Professional Boxing. Retained #1 Ranking USA. 2014 was a rough year for Suray as his dad, who was his handler, got into some life difficulties, but this kid still kept his head up and ended the year with a bang by winning the Olympic Championships in Alabama. Beating 3 national champions along the way to scooping the title. Should have won the most outstanding boxer that year, but another kid won it, which surprised many. Still finished the years as #1 in USA and won International Championships in Puerto Rico.
2015 came and his dad had to go away for a bit because of work. So Suray had to go on without his dad. He came in forth in the nationals that year, won his first fight. Unfortunately, he was food poisoned after that fight and he had to withdraw from the tournament. The dad came back in 2016 and picked up where we left off. That year, Suray won the National Championship in Reno. Even though his dad got into a lot of trouble. That never deterred him from his goal, which is fighting at the highest level. Suray trains more than any other kid his age and he never backs down from a challenge. There is no second-guessing about his talent and potential. The name Suray Robinson Mahmutovic will surely go into the history books as one of the best boxers of his generation.
